welcome to the 2526 school year we're glad and excited to have our new Scholars and our returning Scholars join us this year I want to formally introduce myself my name is Christopher Brown this is my amazing Advent team hi Mr Bailey Just principal for math science Miss filez assistant principal for our Ela and history and we're on side doing the work that we do on a daily basis to support our students and our school community so what's new this school here at Young Writers listen up we have a new and exciting theater program for our Middle School students and we also have sign language from middle school students so we're excited about that and we're looking forward to see what the students will learn and the different platforms that they'll have to do performances Mr Bailey what's new in your end so 1 of the biggest things we have these new podcast room that's coming into our building we got some great grants thank you councilman Banks um we have some new texts that came into the building and smartboards aside from that we have a new cell policy that we put into place so students please leave those laptops those personal items that don't belong in their building at home you will have to check your phones on the way in and on the way out you'll get your phones back we also have our uniform policy that we're keeping up with so if you look behind me we have our colors for our high school we have um black and blue in terms of our colors and for our Middle School we have maroon and gray look forward to seeing you in that fyw swag Miss Les all right so this year we're going to be engaging in some publishing so we're really excited about that and in terms of our teachers we doing the writing Revolution will be partnering with that organization to help us and our teachers learn how to teach writing in all of the content areas so that's just some of the new things that happening at Young Writers so if you want to learn more about our school and our school Community please come and visit participate in our events attend our PTA meetings to look out for the mailings and other information to come again welcome to the new school year and we excited and we can't wait to see how it ends have a great day
